Hello I am interested in buying a nord lead 2x rack and I was wondering if this synthesizer is a multi-timbral hardware.

I am asking this because I would like to trigger its midi from Logic pro 9 environment by using a multi-instrument.

Thanks in advance.

welcome Chris M

Yes, the NL2X is 4 parts multi timbral, 5 Voices each without the Unison (Voices devided by two each timbre if in use)

Using Percussion mode 32 parts multi timbral, using only small ranges, which can be added to each other to enlarge the range...

Hello Wout and thank you for your reply.

What exactly do you mean 4 part multi timbral, 5 Voices each without the Unison ? Up to how many separate sounds can I load ?

There are 4 Slots, so 4 different sounds = parts can be played on the complete tonal range = Keyboard or Midi notes.
Each Slot can also be loaded with a Percussion Pragram, containing 8 sounds the most. This can be any sound you like, so no drum is possible.
This makes it in 4 Slots 32 total.

The NL2X has 20 Voices in total, which means when all Slots are active or produce sounds 20:4=5 Voices available. You can play a 5 notes chord and adding a sixth on the first one (when not being the lowest note = priority) will stop sounding. Using lesser Slots overcomes this limit.
Using Unison devides the number of Voices by 2.

OK thank you for your reply. It was clear.

I know that this is not a logic forum but I was thinking that you maybe using logic in your music creation so I would like to ask..
Is there any chance to tell me how could I create and program a multi-instrument in logics 9 environment so to be able to receive different sounds to different midi channels and record them ?
