because i have to try to load new user sound and now the display is frozen with " andromeda a6 "

boot loader is 1.20.37 and i see it on display but defect remain
i have try to reset sotf and hard but nothing to do
im afraid that bootloader is corrupted
i have founded the bootloader version 1.20.31 but i don't know if it work with firmware 1.42

Actually, that sounds more like a corrupt patch? Try holding soft button 1 while powering up and see what happens. (This turns on the synth with the initialized patch loaded instead of what is stored on the card.)
I'm surprised that after a soft button 3 (reset user RAM) the synth wouldn't function normally, but probably the RAM reset doesn't affect the card data (never tried it...) |

As I recall, the bootloader can't be updated by the user. It's an internal bit of software that can only be updated by sending the Andy back to Alesis and letting them re-flash the chips I think.
It's either a corrupted patch or dodgy firmware. If you want to update the firmware (OS v1.40.12), you can find it in the docs and downloads section on this page. The OS update instructions are on that page too. |

Are you shure?
In the service manual talks about updating it via Sysex. there's a dedicated soft button on startup to do it.. |

Can't see how the bootloader can be corrupt. If it was, your A6 wouldn't turn on at all. It's what boots up the firmware
Looks like a corrupt patch or maybe some of the cables aren't seated properly inside? |

I did say "I think" so no, I'm not 100% sure... But I do recall reading or hearing that it can't be user updated... Then again, I may be thinking of another of my synths. |
