Anybody using both of the above with an iPad at the same time? How are you achieving this, especially if the audio interface is also designed to connect to the dock port, since the iConnectMIDI device also connects there?

To rephrase the question:

Anybody use MIDI on iPad AND record to a multitrack app on iPad at the same time?

Are you looking to have Midi from an iPad app (like Meteor for example) control something external like a synth that is then recorded back into your iPad? I use a Presonus Audiobox USB that has both Midi and audio, but haven't tried doing that....yet Smile With the Audiobox I have to use a USB hub and the CCK, but in general the unit works ok. I have used Midi in from Reaper and a controller to control on board apps like Alchemy Mobile, Sunrizer, etc. which then go out the Audiobx back into Reaper.

One example application is to run this polyphonic (out of standard mono guitar signal) MIDI Guitar app on iPad - in order to do so, one would need both audio into the iPad, and MIDI output from the iPad to external synth:

Another of course would indeed be to run Meteor to send MIDI to external synth and record the audio into iPad.
