I would like to increase the envelope release time on my MicroBrute. Would changing C6 from 2.2µF to 4.7µF more-or-less double the release time?

Looking at the schematic, it appears that increasing the value of C6 would also increase the time of the attack and decay phase of the envelope as well as the release. If that is not a problem for you, then increasing the value would work. But, keep in mind that doing so would also increase the minimum time settings as well (e.g. the minimum attack time would increase, resulting in a less snappy attack at the fastest pot setting).

If you want to increase the range of the release time only, the proper way would be to replace the release pot with a larger value (maybe at least a 20K instead of the 10K that is installed).

Thanks for your reply, varice, it makes perfect sense.

Maybe a long shot, but would anyone happen to know of the part number for the slider pots in these?

What about a Switch where you can put another 2,2uF or 4,7uF parallel to the existing cap and Switch between longer and faster envelope slopes?
What Varice says is correct but maybe this solution is simpler and you're okay with the slightly increased minimum decay times. Attack in this case would not have much effect if at zero position there should be the same times with both caps if i'm not totally wrong... only when you raise the ot the times will become longer...
