Yamaha dx7 sounds are wonky

So i just bought a DX7 "brown first gen" and it was working fine.. then i hit the gold initialize patch button and ALL of my sounds are wonky and play the first note followed by 4 more notes that go down in scale.....really weird. i ran the test that wiped all the sounds and reloaded sounds through sysex and it still does it . also my battery reads 2.7 so that sounds like its fine . what gives? really frustrating. ANY help would be awesome thanks .

i am an idiot and i need to learn my settings better ....lol portamento time was set weird and was making every thing all wonky.... nothing to see here folks move along.
