I'm trying to make a drums module based on a twit t oscillator that using a CD40106 (trigger di Schmitt)
To do that I started from an article found in an old electronic magazine. My custom schema it's very similar to the attachment.
There is only one difference with original schema: I use an inverter Schmitt's trigger instead of a nand configured like an inverter.
Also I add a potenziometer between r5 and p1 to have more control about release.
When I check my circuit the oscillator enters in an infinite oscillation.
What is the problem? Could be logic port type? Anyone can give me anything to solve this problem?

welcome party!

a schmitt trigger inverter will not work for this and you most likely need an unbuffered chip like the CD4069UBE
but a CD4049 might work too.

I suspected that. But your response gives me a confirmation.
I'll try with one of chips that you suggest to me.
Maybe you know any inverter chip with a socket more similar to cd40106? (unfortunately it's a little bit different)

Sorry, i mistake with cd4049, cd4069 has the same socket
