I'm making a thingy with a CD4015 shift reg. It has a rotary switch to select which output feeds back to the data in.

I've noticed the switch is 'make before break', briefly shorting adjacent outputs when it is moved. Is this a going to damage the 4015 ?

If VDD is >5V, I would add a 3k3..10k in series to all odd(or even) SR outputs. 4 resistors more is not a big deal...
