I have a G2 that is on the fritz I believe due to a bad main board. I've done a good bit of testing on the power supply board, checking all the big capacitors which are the usual suspects but everything seems to be in spec. When I turn it on, any number of things happen but never properly booting. It will freeze in all sorts of different states. This makes me think it is likely a processor or memory issue as if it was a simple power issue it just wouldn't turn on, or at least it would probably do the same thing every time.

Anyway, I've seen pictures on this forum (see attached) of the G2 Engine main board and it looks identical save for the control pedal and sustain pedal TRS jack spots not being populated which would be very easy for me to solder a couple on. In fact I think I have a couple lying around from when I replaced one on my Electro which I believe uses the same jack part.

The engines often go for half the price of the full G2 or less, so it seems like it would be worth it to cannibalize one to save my G2.

Has anyone tested this out?
