Hi all. Dan Carlson here. (aka dextersinister)

Glad to finally be officially in this forum.

I grew up in Kansas City, MO under the informal tutelage of Kevin Kissinger, watching and listening to him in the 70s as he soldered together his Aries synthesizer. Have been a long time fan of his and of much electronic music owing my earliest exposure to Kevin, Wendy Carlos, Keith Emerson, Larry Fast, Morton Subotnick, Andrew Kazdin & Thomas Shepard, Dick Hyman, and so many others.

I've always been an amateur musician. A 103.5-year old friend of mine once pointed out that "amateur" is from the Latin root for "to love" and i do love music, though i'm not skilled in performing or writing it. That hasn't stopped me from being a keyboardist in numerous bands, none of which you've ever heard (Tower of Johnson, Red Hot Flaming Avatars, Judy Garland Overdrive, Ape and Essence, etc.)

I'm a consummate archivist, however, and have recorded my musical dribblings and band performances going back to the 1970s.

Over the last several years, i've built up a medium-sized Eurorack rig, which i've performed live and jammed with, and have made several improvised recordings as well as a few composed recordings. If i can share them via electro-music, i will. After all, as Neil Innes once said, "I've suffered for my music, now it's your turn."
