Problem with sequencers when jumping between variations |
|
|
So, I am working on a patch. I'm new to the G2 so I've had some trouble along the way. Blue Hell and iPassenger have been instrumental in getting me as far as I've gotten having owned one for a few days, so thank you to them!
Anyway, about the patch. What I have here is a song from Mega Man 2, the stage music for Wood Man. Within var1 I have part A sequenced and within var2 I have part B sequenced (just for the melody, I haven't gotten to the bass part yet). There are two sequencers for the melody since there are two voices in it, but I have them running to seperate oscillators. Since the melody wouldn't fit within 16 notes I have two sequencers linked together for each voice. Both voices are controlled by pressing C4 (60). If you press C4 once, the first note plays. If you press it again, the next note plays...etc. If you press B4 (71), it jumps to var2.
The problem if when you jump to var2. Try advancing the sequencer a few times by hitting C4 and then hit B4. Hit C4 a few more times. Instead of starting from the beginning of the next part it sounds like it's playing a few things at once. I notice that when I switch to var2 (or back to var1 from var2) the linked sequencers are no longer parked. If you hit the on/off switch to reset them, it seems to do the job and they go back to being set up properly. However, I'm trying to find a way to do this automatically when I switch vars since I won't have my computer in front of me while I'm performing it.
Any help on the subject would be most appreciated! I think this is the final obstacle keeping me from finishing this patch.
Best,
Farley

Awesome! This is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks so much!
I've got the patch about finished now. I'll post a recording when I get a chance to play it properly with drums. |
