Just an experimental micro timed sequencer. The timing of each step is determined by sequencer 1 and 2. Their outputs are combined in the usual 'course/fine' mixer arrangement, which then feeds a level compare module. The other input to the level compare comes from a sawtooth LFO. A network of logic gates takes care of generating the clock pulse to advance to the next step, which then presents the next set of timing parameters to the level compare module. The third sequencer provides an accent level for each step, sample and holds 'demultiplex' the accent for the kick and High Hat. The trigger outputs of the sequencers are combined with the timing pulses to trigger the Snare, Kick and High Hat respectively. Finally, a random LFO modulates the phase of the LFO to further 'humanise' the pattern.

Maybe not technically micro-timed, the resolution is 2^13 or 1/8192th of a bar, I think.

The timings in this example came from analysing a drum loop sample (real drummer), putting the start locations of each beat into Excel then, using a formula, produce course/fine settings for each step.

The start-up logic requires some work and adjusting tempo is awkward, but I have run out of enthusiasm. Just posting in case others find some of the techniques useful.
