This is based on Ron Meesters' excellent piano, but with enhancements in sustain, tuning, formants, and chorusing. Not the ultimate, but a step in the right direction.

4 variations.

It does sound very crisp. I envy you for that... I must study your magic as soon as possible; at this moment I've only listened to it.

This might be a nice occasion to show you my third incarnation. This patch chorusses the crap out of the lower parts, which actually makes them sound a bit more convincing -BUT- the nicest improvement (i.m.h.o.) is that stupid single wire going from the envelope "end" to the string-oscillator "pitch".

As you might have noticed, note stealing is not too subtle when the stringosc is involved. Especially the lower notes, with a lot of sustain, suffer from new notes colliding with the old ones resulting in not-piano-like "twang"- sounds. But in this patch, as soon as a key is released, the pitch immediately goes way up, silencing the stringosc as quickly as possible.

I'm not saying that there will be no more twangs, but it does help.

Cheers,

Ron.

Glad you like it, Ron.

I tried to find a table of piano formants to get some idea of how to tune the diffuser, but I only found a vague reference to two of them; so I used those and fit the other frequencies around them.

Note that I changed the location of the velocity sensitivity; that eliminates most of the noise from the string oscillator.

The tuning fix is from Chet Singer, at http://chet.getchwood.com/G2-Tutorial/Index.htm

That oscilliator killer is great; I use several modules in one of my patches to do that ;') Time to clean that up.
