There is a comb filter module which can track your keyboard notes. The comb filter is a delay line... |

You have a couple of delays in series .. every next one will add one sample delay, making the delay longer relatively for short delay times. Or the pitch being flat a bit.
You can replace the six delays by one, set to a delay time >= 6 * 5 ms. which would be 100 ms, or set it to 25 ms, which may be enough too for your purpose .. experiment a bit, and uou will have to retune a bit for that, the result would probably be better.
You'd still have to tune by ear tho, but thats just once.
Oh and on the NM Classic it was not perfect either.
Edit : I added two spaces to your post to make the URL work.
Edit : the NM classic delay is 2.65 ms ... so 6 * 2.65 = 15.9 .. meaning 25 ms for the single delay will be fine.
Edit: in fact for the NM Classic it would matter in what order you'd add the modules to the patch ... for the G2 that does not matter, it still matters though where they are on the screen, evaluation is top to bottom. left to right. _________________ Jan

Yes, that one could do the trick too, would need a couple of mods of course. _________________ Jan

@ Moody33: thanks, didn't think about it. It does track perfectly the kb, but I don't get the sound I'm looking for, and I don't have control over the feedback path (low/hipass filtering, etc..).
@ bluehell: thanks for your inputs, I wish I was more skilled in dsp signals..I'll try what you suggest.
PS: finally I know how to use [url].. |

Just set the feedback knob of the comb filter to 0. Then you should be able to feedback anything you want into the comb filter. Just take care about overload. It should work. That's what Blue Hell was saying about "mods" I guess? |

Other alternative is the string oscillator, which is a full-blown Karplus-Strong resonator with tuning-compensated HF damping. |

A good suggestion. A fine example of using that module for tuned feedback is Ian's "ebaby" perf:

I start thinking that the osc string could be my best option, even if more dsp-hungry..there is clearly a lot of possibility.
Thanks everyone for clearing-up my mind! |
