So, here's something I don't understand:

I've got two oscillators frequency modulated by another oscillator. The settings on the modulated oscillators are the same. However, on one oscillator the KBT is on, on the other it's off but the keyboard module with the note in output is attached to it. This should result in the exact same sound, right?

Listening to the sound with modulation off: yes, same pitch, same sound.
Turning modulation on and playing E4/MIDI 60: same pitch, same sound, as expected.
One octave higher: big difference! Same pitch, different timbre.
Two octaves lower: big difference! One can really hear different movements.

It's the same wether KBT is off or on on the modulating oscillator, however, it shouldn't matter anyway, no? What is it that I don't get?

The input-able modulation amount to an oscillator has a maximum headroom of -64 to +64 in total for all inputs combined.

External keyboard tracking combined with full-range modulation (unattenuated bipolar LFO in your example) will clip this range at the upper or lower boundaries, and will become more noticeable the higher or lower you play on the keyboard.

That's what's going on here.

cheers

...for all inputs combined. Thanks, that explains it all.
