I have a question about my G2X and I would be grateful to anyone's help... Rolling Eyes
Well, I made a patch a few days ago and I noticed that when I switch it to poly mode (it has maximum polyphony 7 voices) everything is ok. But when I switch it to legato or mono mode everytime I hold down a key and then press another, a loud click is heard in the sound that varies in loudness from one time to another. I've checked my Attack times in my envelopes and they are in reasonable values (16.5ms, 30.6ms). Does it have to do with the Release times or the reverb I've put? I don't know please help me... Sad

Thank you all! Wink Cool

Could be many things. It would help when you posted the patch - or the part of it that exhibits the problem.

You 're right. So here we go! Wink The clicks can be heard clearly in the 3rd and 4th Variation only when in Mono or Legato mode... Rolling Eyes Thanks a lot Jan for your time! Embarassed

How does the patch seem to you by the chance? The 4th Variation is a sound that I like most from all the others I've been making since I bought the G2X... (Tell me what you really think coz I'm still a grand noob and therefore I try to make a progress.) Wink

Thanks! Cool
Mario

It seems to be the keyboard velocity in this case. I don't have a keyboard but loaded some auto-playing patch and did get some nasty crackle and stuff on especially variation 3.

And when the velocity changes step wise the amplification in the envelopes will do the same, that is when you have only one voice - for multiple voices a next key press and velocity would be allocated to another sound, but in mono mode the next note and velocity must go to the same voice -> click !

When I added a glide module (just a few ms will do) after the LIN velocity out of the KeyIn module it was gone. Maybe that using the monophonic keyboard input would solve the problem as well, you'd have to experiment with that.

You couls also try to play all notes with equal velocity of course :-)

Variation four has a nice dreamy sound I think, but I liked var 1 as well.

That kind of velocity-related clicking with monophonic sounds is quite common. The NL3 suffers from it too. Smoothing with the glide module is the way to go.

You were right again Jan! Cool I added a glide module as you said and the clicks went fishing! Laughing I also tried the MonoKeyboard input but it was the same as with the Poly one. Sad Thanks tim!

Thanks! Wink

Another click/glide bug I found a few weeks ago:

Mono patches with a 19msec glide (the lowest setting) will glitch whatever.

Yo it's me again!!! I noticed something several weeks ago and I don't know if it was mentioned before by anyone... It looks like it's a bug. Rolling Eyes

Here we go! Open the Basic Analog1 patch I've posted above and go to the parameter pages. Go to page E2 and note that I've placed the VU [LED] meters on slots 6 and 7. Now open the Parameter Overview page. Surprisingly enough I, and therefore you, will see that the VU meters appear to be in the same slots but in page A1. Shocked Slots 6 and 7 in page E2 are now empty. If you go again to the parameter pages you'll see that everything is ok! Confused These VU [LEDs] also cannot be deassigned. scratch The only way to remove them is to assign another parameter on them. Also if you move them, you actually move the "Destination" parameter and the VU [LED] stays where it was. Strange things...! cyclops

Please check this out and let me know... head banging monitor

With electronic greetings!!!

If the glide module glitches at that kind of speed then you could use a lowpass filter intead to acomplish the same thing. 50Hz should do the trick in this case, I think.

Same here with the assignable VUs. But I'm an easy customer - I think assignable VUs are so nice, I don't care for the bug.
