Bass creation - newbie question!

It seems to be a simple bass sound but i cannot recreate it with my engine!
Ok i am a newb but is it just a simple bass sound with a classic signal route of 2 osc-filter and that is all.Here is the mp3.

where is the sound coming from? dont sounds like just 2 osc and filter...
except on some really strange synths like a wasp or prehistoric korg i rather would think its a sample

It does seem like a classic 2-or-3-osc-LPF bass signal chain. It has a lot of osc detuning. There is a fairly fast decay and low sustain level on both the filter EG and the volume EG.

Here's an attempt (patched on teeny tiny PC speakers at my office, so it's just a guess). I think it may need three oscs - one tuned an octave up, with slightly different volume levels for each osc. It needed a touch of post-filter saturation too. I notice that the sound clip also has a fair amount of reverb, so you may want to try that.

Hey.

I modified Dave's patch and added a sequencer with some 'similar' sounding notes (my hearing's not pitch perfect I'm afraid Sad

).

There is a nice mid bass sound in that clip that compliments the bass well... which isn't in this patch, so it may seem a little empty in comparison.

Minor tweaks and added the reverb. I think this is closer. Normally you would put the reverb in the CVA but it doesn't matter much with a monophonic patch. If you have an outboard reverb box or a good reverb plug-in it would probably be better to try that instead of the G2 Reverb module.
