My Andromeda arrived last week, and I have been having a hard time staying away from it. That's why you haven't heard much from me on here the last few days --- too busy playing!

Anyway, I finally came up for air long enough to hook the A6 up to my DAW (Cubase SE) and do some recording. Here's a quickie sample MP3 of me just goofing around. The sound is just a built-in preset, but I think it sounds pretty neat.

I've done some tweaking on other sounds; nothing notable enough yet to post, but I'll be sure to post some patches when I get the hang of it.

Without further ado, here's my first A6 recording!

Thanks!

Yes, having some fun with the ribbon controller. The patch name was Astrology Sweep (User bank, preset 000) with no tweaks other than just playing with the ribbon, mod wheel, and aftertouch.

So far, I've also made a patch or two of my own just by tweaking some existing patches. Adding some mod-wheel-controlled distortion to "Blues Organ" made that patch really come alive.

The one I'm trying to figure out is Andro Techno Lead. That's a great lead, if only I could figure out how to remove the bright percussive attack on the non-legato notes. I haven't dissected the patch enough yet to figure out how to do that. I think it's a combination of filter env and amp env. If you play that patch totally legato, its a really warm expressive lead, but if you accidentally play a non-legato note, you get the attack again. I'm going to try to remove the attack so it's just a nice smooth lead.

I'll try to post more as I get time. I am really loving this synth. As is usual, last night I sat down to play for a few minutes, and the next thing I knew, it was four hours later again. I'm beginning to think the Andromeda ships with its own alien abductors!

Russ
