Sets are 30 minutes each. 1400 GMT - 0500 GMT is usually the time frame. Please choose a slot from this range first.
Please note: "Preferred Start Time". We will do the best that we can to accommodate people to their requested times. However, please be flexible because this event will have European and American musicians in many different time zones. Time slots will be on a semi-"first come-first served" basis... with European musicians taking preference to play earlier in the day due to the 6 to 7 hour time difference.
As in the past, the CHATROOM will serve as an invaluable communication tool for set up, streaming, and connecting to those listening. I suggest participants get familiar with it in advance, if you aren't already.
If you want a recording of your set, it would be prudent to record your own set, rather than depend on others. Accidents and mistakes happen...especially in this format. There are many ways to record your set. Edcast - BUTT has a built in recording system. You can also record your stream from your mixer on the signal path to the computer.
It is IMPERATIVE that everyone test their connections before we start streaming. At least 24 hours before or sooner. Sorry, but musicians WILL NOT be allowed to stream on Sunday if you do not test 24 hours before hand. Not only does it delay the schedule, but causes unneeded stress on performer, server operator, and audience during performance time.
ALL STREAMS MUST BE AT 128 kbps, 44.1 kHz , stereo.

I was just going to pop this on my list of things to do this weekend, looks good.
Who wants to do the poster? Should set a theme this year?

electro-music.com is heading into it's 10th year. How's that for a theme? How to make music to that theme is a stretch. How about
The poster features the number 10 as well as 2014.
Music has 10 beats per measure.
Scales of 10 notes.
10 voice chords.
Three movents of 10 minutes per 30 minute set.
Mangle the word 10.
Other suggestions welcome.
Of course, everyone is free to ignore this. _________________ --Howard

mosc.
thank you for the idea
ten three minute pieces sounds like a go for me
in the vein of brian enos' music for films which by the way turns 37 in 2014
and 3+7 = 10
yes i can add _________________ "I'm the transmitter' I give information."

Wow, I was afraid someone would notice this discrepancy. 2014 will mark the 10th year that we'll have an electro-music conference/festival. We've already got the name: electro-music 2014.
The oldest post we have on electro-music.com is here:
http://electro-music.com/forum/post-5.html
It apparently was edited a couple of times. At any rate, the first day seems to be Feb 1, 2003.
As for radio, that seems to go back to Oct 2, 2005. The first stream was Noodle-Radio
http://electro-music.com/forum/topic-8062.html
So, electro-music.com will be 11
The electro-music festivals will be 10
and streaming will be 9
The history is all in forum topics; one just has to look for it. _________________ --Howard

Ok .. so we'll just have to use the numbers 9, 10 and 11 then, no problem 8)
Oh, and 7 too - 8062 -> 16 -> 7, and 5 maybe ...
I'd like to do a lil something too with those numbers - just a sec ... _________________ Jan
