Hi all Smile

I was up really early this morning to pack the telescope & mount , cameras etc ready for a possible clear sky for the eclipse , when I got to the hills it was very windy and patchy cloud cover all over.

Managed to get 180 shots , a few came out good Smile , I had a safe astro solar film over the end of the old achro refractor & an adaptor for my canon 500D DSLR , the telescope is acting as a 1-meter long "camera lens" . on some shots there is a black sun spot , cool Smile

Timelapse ......


190 shots run at 10 frames per second for a short movie of the transition of the moon over the suns disc.

The wind combined with me adjusting the mount tracking makes the sun bounce around a bit , but still great to watch .

I see a tiny darker dot on the upper left area of the sun - is that a sunspot?

That tiny sunspot is apparently the same size as the Earth.
