June Solstice 2019 live streaming event Subject description: signup is closed |
 |
|
We are approaching the next solstice which we will celebrate with another pagan ritual live streaming concert
that will be broadcast on electro-music.com radio. If you'd like to participate in this event keep on reading,..
(why aren't there any synth emoticons ???!)
The event will be on electro-music radio on Saturday June 22nd 2019.
It will probably start at 15:00 GMT and end at 00:00 GMT but we can extend the timing
if there are enough people signing up.
Stream ops please respond if you're able to help switch and what time range you are available.
As always, if you are interested in performing, please copy/paste this Sign-Up template and post in this thread:
1. Preferred Start Time (Please use GMT/Military Time):
2. Set Length (30 or 60 minutes):
3. Artist Name (For displaying on the poster):
4. Chat Name (if different from artist/forum name):
5. Location (City/State/Country - Optional):
6. Description (Style/Genre/Equipment, etc. - Optional):
7. Website Address (Optional):
8. Anything else you like to mention:
For reference, this clock could be useful:
First Time Streamers Please Read:
Please review the Electro Music Copyright Policy
Please note: "Preferred Start Time". We will do the best that we can to accommodate people to their requested times. However, please be flexible because this event will have European and American musicians in many different time zones. Time slots will be on a semi-"first come-first served" basis. Furthermore, please post your time in GMT. The handy clock should make it simple. However, we do use military/24 hour time. It will undoubtedly be an international event and GMT is the only way to coordinate such events.
As in the past, the chat room will serve as an invaluable communication tool for set up, streaming, and connecting to those listening....and it's just a lot of silly fun! I suggest participants get familiar with it in advance, if you aren't already.
If you want a recording of your set, it would be prudent to record your own set, rather than depend on others. Accidents and mistakes happen...especially in this format. There are many ways to record your set, either thru the stream app or record your stream from your mixer on the signal path to the computer.
Performers MUST stream at 128 kbps, 44.1 kHz , stereo.
more info about broadcasting on radio.electro-music.com can be found here.
It is IMPERATIVE that everyone test their connections before we start streaming. At least 24 hours before but sooner is preferred. Sorry, but we can not guarantee that musicians will be allowed to stream if you do not test 24 hours before hand. Not only does it delay the schedule, but causes unneeded stress on performer, server operator, and audience during performance time. Join the chat room for testing and help setting up.

Hello! My schedule has prevented me from performing on the streaming broadcasts and I have missed it. After missing the last few broadcasts I decided to make a point to participate.
I plan do do contrasting kinds of music -- some rhythmic and punchy and some of it sustained and meditative. This with the caveat that my live-modular improvs can be unpredictable and I often don't end up exactly where I thought I would at the outset.
Thanks!

1. Preferred Start Time (Please use GMT/Military Time): Flexible; whatever fits.
2. Set Length (30 or 60 minutes): Flexible; whatever works for the schedule.
3. Artist Name (For displaying on the poster): Probably my old standby: MusicMan11712 (aka Dr. Steve) unless I "reinvent" myself and need a different moniker.
4. Chat Name (if different from artist/forum name): iSteve
5. Location (City/State/Country - Optional): Upstate New York
6. Description (Style/Genre/Equipment, etc. - Optional): In the past I have usually done electronic music via somewhat improvised experimentalism, often with some type of beats, textures, pleasing and abrasive sounds, etc. mostly using usb/midi controllers connected to hardware synth modules and sometimes softsynths and occasionally natural/environmental sounds (rain, birds, raking leaves, motorized garage door, airplanes, indoor showers, etc.). Usually I combine (1) somewhat intentional manual keypresses/keyreleases, slider movements, knob turns, foot pedal presses/releases controller button presses/releases with (2) randomizing synth gear presets/patches (with randomization of note pitches and textural aspects of sound). Lately I have been experimenting with new patches/presets and new performance modalities designed for the E-Mu Proteus 2000/Command Station synth engine. If I can pull it together, I will try put together a set using these new designs together with time honored techniques.
7. Website Address (Optional): Not ATM.
8. Anything else you like to mention: I have been wanting to get back into making music again for a while and am hoping to make a decent attempt for the June event. |

Hi there,
Sadly, I have to let you know that Balloon Marsupials can't participate in the stream on June 22nd as we had planned.
