Calendar Event: December 31, 2020

This event will be on electro-music radio on Thursday December 31, 2020.
It will start somewhere around 15:00 GMT and end whenever it is over depending on the number of participants.

Please review the Electro Music Copyright Policy

Please note: "Preferred Start Time". We will do the best that we can to accommodate people to their requested times. However, please be flexible because this event will have European and American musicians in many different time zones. Time slots will be on a semi-"first come-first served" basis. Furthermore, please post your time in GMT. The handy clock should make it simple. However, we do use military/24 hour time. It will undoubtedly be an international event and GMT is the only way to coordinate such events.

As in the past, the chat room will serve as an invaluable communication tool for set up, streaming, and connecting to those listening....and it's just a lot of silly fun! I suggest participants get familiar with it in advance, if you aren't already.

If you want a recording of your set, it would be prudent to record your own set, rather than depend on others. Accidents and mistakes happen...especially in this format. There are many ways to record your set, either thru the stream app or record your stream from your mixer on the signal path to the computer.

Performers MUST stream at 128 kbps, 44.1 kHz , stereo.

It is IMPERATIVE that everyone test their connections before we start streaming. At least 24 hours before but sooner is preferred. Sorry, but we can not guarantee that musicians will be allowed to stream if you do not test 24 hours before hand. Not only does it delay the schedule, but causes unneeded stress on performer, server operator, and audience during performance time. Join the chat room for testing and help setting up.

My new "Tranzistech" setup is now based completely around my own Tranzistow synthesizer, I don't use any other synthesizer anymore (either hardware or software). Hardware part consists of my two quite old but trustworthy computers: TW (i7-4770K @ 4.4GHz, 8GB RAM, Windows 7/64-bit) running 24-part/384-voice 64-bit AVX2 version of Tranzistow and HW (i7-2600K @ 4.4GHz, 4GB RAM, Windows XP/32-bit) running my KalquLab sequencer and 16-part/256-voice 32-bit SSE3 version of Tranzistow, giving a total of 40 parts and 640 voices max. (depending on the voice complexity, of course), everything running in realtime at very low latency. Both of them have E-MU 1820M audio interfaces, touch screens and Behringer BCR2000 controllers for realtime tweaking. Two MIDI lines go from HW to TW as well as S/PDIF connection to transfer audio from HW to TW. Additional E-MU Xboard49 keyboard is connected to HW for realtime playing on any channel.

Tranzistow is running under my Hrastow environment at 96kHz on both computers (48kHz output with 2x oversampling) plus 2x or 4x internal oversampling (meaning that audio engine runs at 192kHz or 384kHz, depending on the individual patch, mostly at 192kHz because 384kHz is really overkill as some modules like FilterB are even further oversampled).

This is the culmination of my work because I am now able to create complete tracks on my Tranzistow synthesizer alone, from sound synthesis to effects, with everything playing in realtime and all channels controlled over MIDI from my KalquLab sequencer or connected keyboard/controllers. Except a few field recordings I made during the years (lightning, rain, birds, water, forest, etc., played/processed thru Tranzistow engine, of course), all sounds are synthesized by myself on Tranzistow only, including drums and percussions, and there are no samples used. I cannot describe how happy I am because now I can do everything I ever dreamt of Cool
