Welcome...
electro-music.com is a place where artists and musicians meet, collaborate, sell our wares, and nurture our audiences. Here we create our own critical mass, so we can develop music on its own terms. electro-music is new music; still undefined; happening all over our planet.
electro-music is made with synthesizers, home-made circuits, computers, found objects, voices, signal processors, wooden flutes, ambient recordings, and virtually anything imaginable that makes sound - even conventional orchestras. It can be slow and spacy, or fast and rhythmic; it crosses many genres. The primary motivation for its creation is artistic and spiritual expression, not show business.
This site is a kind of cooperative community where artists and enthusiasts participate and benefit together. Our site has several parts, including:
A store where independent artists can sell CDs and other products on-line. Where enthusiasts can find new music, learn about it, support the artists, and participate in it's development.
A forum where we develop a community; communicating with each other, and our audiences. Join up and join in; it's free.
Articles, reviews and editorials by forum members. Online journalism focusing the new music and art. We welcome new contributors.
Look around, checkout the store, participate. We have an extensive resource of links, and the forums are full of fascinating information. Take your time - this is a content-rich site.
If you are a musician or artist, please contact us at admin@electro-music.com about selling your CDs or other art works at our store. We offer independent musicians one of the best financial arrangements on the internet.

RSS feeds upgraded
As a free service to other web sites and individuals we offerRSS (Really Simple Syndication) feeds of electro-music.com's forum. ( Click here for info about RSS.)
We have just upgraded our RSS feeds. The new version is more efficient and secure.
We provide several URLs to get these feeds:
http://electro-music.com/forum/rss.php - provides up to 50 of the most recent topics from all of our publicly readable forums. The format of this feed is XML in the RSS standard. There are a couple of http arguments you can use to control the feeds:
c=20 would limit the feed to only 20 topics. The max is 50, default is 20.
f=14 would show only topics in forum 14 and all of its subforums.
For example to return the last 10 topics in the News category, use http://electro-music.com/forum/rss.php?c=10&f=14
rss.php returns the text of the topics. In case you don't want the entire text, we provide another program, rss2.php, for just the headers.
For simplicity, another program rss3.php provides a feed of just the News the electro-music.com forums. The program rss4.php provides just the Nord Modular forums (f=43). The c options work with these URLs as well.
RSS feeds aren't intended to provide an alternative way to read forum discussions. They are more useful for generating lists of the topics with recent activity. These feeds are not always up-to-date; they are updated every 2 minutes.
At the bottom of most forum pages there is the image which when clicked will provide the appropriate RSS feed for that forum and all of it's sub forums.
If you have any questions, or to request variations on these feeds, please post them as replies to this topic.
Sorry if the changes due to this upgrade cause you any inconvenience."

Analog Gear News
By Per Wikstrom
Battle of the Bucket Brigade
I have been travelling during the summer, a long way from the metal walls of modular synths. But now I am back with monthly reports from the modular world.
Analogue Systems has during long time sold their RS-310 Reverb/Chorus, with a special multi tap bucket brigade chip capable to create electronic reverb effects.
 | Doepfer A188 Doepfer is now in the race with no less than six A-188-1 modules, each with a different BBD chip, ranging from 256 steps to 4096 steps. In practice, it means that the delay time is from a dozen milliseconds in the 256 BBD Chip to up to over 200 milliseconds in the 4096 chip. The AS RS-310 is declared to be capable of up to 150 ms delay.
The length of the delay is controlled by the clock frequency. Normally, it is above 10 KHz, and filtered to be inaudible. For short delay times, the clock (...more...) View the entire article |
