Noodle that produces a lot of organic vintage tape-echo sounds. Just let it run for a while.

Personally I like to record it for some time and then do some cut and pasting, looping or sampling, to save the most interesting parts.

Subject description: perf using two of Rob's 'tape' patches
Reply with quote  Mark this post and the followings unread

Not really sure why I did this, partly because both patches in this perf involve tape-related sounds.

I took Rob's tapeechosounds_143 patch and ran it's output into the RevoxA77 patch. http://electro-music.com/forum/viewtopic.php?highlight=revox&t=7442

It may not make much sense, but the combination of these patches makes some interesting sounds.

I played a lot with the Revox A77 patch and noticed that when the signal in the right channel in the Revox patch is low amplitude or even missing for a short time, you still hear some neat sounds.

A minor change- I added a little S&H to interrupt the signal in the right channel.

I also experimented with adding more voices in Slot A, but the sound can get somewhat cacophonous at times, so I think mono sounds "less crowded".

Ok- after an hour+ of this, I'm ready for some non-evolving pads, or even just white noise Smile

Awesome patch Rob Very Happy

It's VERY Tod Docstader indeed. Very very nice.

(works great on the G2 demo too- although not very well on the OSX partition. XP runs it very nicely, (but then it is 2.16 GHz Shocked ). Shame on you Clavia! Twisted Evil )

Very interesting! Very Happy Hey Rob, is the only sound source that one noise module? (Apart from the delays) If it is, that makes this patch even more amazing! Very Happy

Well it makes sense because after all, Tod Dockstader used only 'found sounds' and 3 reel to reel tape machines. No synthesisers or any of that mumbo-jumbo Shocked Very Happy )

Essentially that's what this patch is. A lot of sped-up and slowed-down tape machines Cool

There is the self modulated OscC1 in the bottom right as well. Still an amazing range of interesting sounds though.
