Hallo Everybody,

my G2 has a strange beaveour in the following situation:
- When a note sequencer is running it's sequence to control the pitch of the oscillators and I put a new module on the patch, without connecting any cables, the timbre of the sound previously programmed mutates. This happen only when a sequencer is controlling the pitch of the synthesis structure. Otherwise, when I play the notes on the keyboard, everything works fine.

If anybody has some idea of what's happening, I would be very grateful to him of letting me know.

Many thanks in advance.

A new module causes the patch to recalculate.

My guess is if you have more than one OSC at the same pitch but not synced, then the reloading/recalculation of the patch is changing the relative phase of these OSC too each other. This is probably changing the sound of the sequence, if you are FM-ing, you can get a similar result but it is caused by the same thing, the relative phase of the OSC is changing the resulting timbre.

Can you post the patch (or better still a picture of the patch, as I am at work) and we'll see if we can spot the cause.

Also are you on the Demo or a G2?

It doesn't happen on a specific patch and, I've just discovered, it doesn't happen all the times.

I also have another similar problem, that maby can be related and could help you understand the whole situation:
- I noticed this problem to happen only in the attached patch "Drum". After a while I start the performance the kick drum lowers it's power (something like a filtered effect). This problem doesn't happen all the times too. In the performance I have some patches receiving midi notes from Ableton Live's sequencer and everything is sincronized with the midi clock of my Allen & Heat Xone 2D.

I can't hear the problem you describe.

The first triggered sound is sometimes a bit muted when it recalculates but i think this is due to a smoothing of the level as it fades out and fades in the patch following the calculation, to prevent loud clicks I guess.
