Episode 76 is a rather noisy affair with heavy drones and weird rhythmics from the Putney. It is dedicated to my new friends Virginia and David of free jazz improv group the Jooklo Duo.

Episode 78 was quite a mellow affair, mostly 'light' ambient with some layered arpeggiations later for contrast, for which I used a very simple set-up of Prophet VS -> Resonator -> DD-20 -> Wedge

I will be taking a break from AIS for a while, to move house and hopefully work on some more material.

In the mean time, Steve aka Musicman has already agreed to play next time (in two weeks) but maybe you can confirm that in this thread Steve. Smile

Thanks for listening, and/or downloading.

Episode 79 was an other impro using a modular style Kyma creation which I have loosely been referring to as Ambimachine 1. I hope there will be a 2 and 3 and so on, to come. Smile

The adventure continues.

Edit: The beginning of this set is dominated by a sample I took from the radio just before I started playing - this sample is from Antimon, "Antimon Plays Some Doodles".

tonight's set will be broadcast for me by jfox as I'm gigging at the Rammel Club, it is entitled Andromeda Drone and is in the style of my albums Zeta Reticuli, Heliosphere and Demon Star, featuring heavily processed layered sounds from the Alesis Andromeda Smile

No webcam pictures for this episode as it wasn't performed live, anyway here's the recording, layered and heavily processed sounds from the Alesis Andromeda, originally recorded sometime in 2009 and finished off last week Smile

Thanks again to jfox for broadcasting and hope anyone listening enjoyed it

Rob asked me to fill in for Episode 81 and I am glad I did. I got to play around and create my own adventure. In the week preceding the episode, I listened to about 8-10 of Rob's AIS shows to get a feel for the AIS concept. (I would recommended them all!) While I wanted my set to be rooted in the AIS style, I wanted it to also reflect my own sense of musicality. I had fun and like the result as well. Thanks for the opportunity, Rob.

Episode 82 was improvised live, using 2 new patches I'd programmmed on the Nord modular G2 and sounds from my ipod processed using tim's G2 granular synthesis patch, all run through Frostwave Resonator, looped by DD-20 with reverb and delay from Wedge. Ipod apps used: Curtis heavy, Android FX, Soundscope Space and Manetron

Adventures In Sound - Episode 83 - The lost art of reading

Some samples, a bang on a can, harry the lawn mower and some bees and flies - G2, mainly the demo, and one for a sequence and another for FX.

** I wanted to upload, but uploads are broken currently, when working again I'll add it here.

Episode 84 seemed to be doomed from the start, I was running so far behind schedule it was untrue, then I had problems with my webcam, then a bad connection to my mixer, then my ipod just died for no apparent reason, but even then I managed to start my broadcast just on time, only to be foiled by problems switching the radio stream!!

Luckily Jan somehow managed to fix it pretty quickly, with people listening directly to my port and Steve re-beaming to the main port whilst he got it sorted. Many thanks to them both Smile

After all that I got the episode number wrong too

So, unsurprisingly this turned out to be quite a noisy dark set, with some more tranquil stuff towards the end. I actually enjoyed it and it was a great way to unwind

I basically used the same setup as Chez Jez #4 (nm1/g2/blofeld/resonator/repeater/wedge), but in a different way Smile

So after all that, may the noise be with you...

For Episode 86 I just used the Putney and krautrock phaser through the repeater and delay. It was pretty noisy but fun with lots of experimentation Smile
