I find it funny that in finnish alcohol stores they have a notice with this text: "Alkoholia ei myydä selvästi päihtyneelle."
in english: "Alcohol will not be sold to anyone who is clearly drunk."
but the word 'selvä' (=clear, evident) means also 'sober', so, you could read it as: 'Alcohol will not be sold to anyone who is soberly drunk. |

I hadn't even noticed that!
Some people use the expression "cold as hell" (at least in Finnish: "helvetin kylmä") which is a bit strange as well when you think of it.

I visited Finland way back when. Seems like there, no matter how one translates the sign, the rule is rarely applied.  _________________ --Howard
