Hello,

I saw somewhere on the forum that someone found a source to get Buchla knobs. I like the design and would be interested to get some.

Unfortunately I don't find anymore the post.

Could someone help me to redirect me to the right topic or give me the link.

And, why not more info concerning the front panel and also the new knobs.

There is enough people on that forum doing excellent module in which I would be interested to built with such a design and knobs.

Thanks to all of you for your work and contribution.

Which era Buchla knobs? The 200e uses Selco knobs. These are the part numbers for the Buchla knobs:

Knobs - Selco D-Shaft
DRD 150 006 Large Skirt 15 mm without compression ring
DCN 150-006 Medium 15 mm WITH compression ring
DRN 110 006 Small Knob 11 mm without compression ring

C151 Gray 6 lined grey cap for medium and large
C111 Gray 6 lined grey cap for small

Other cap colors are available. Minimum order is $50 from Selco.

Hello,

Thanks you both for your answer.
In the forum, I saw a post about a source for old design Buchla knobs.
I would be happy to find it back...

All the best,

No, they're 6 mm.

Can someone explain what the compression ring is? I can't find any details on what that actually does.

The colored knobs were Rogan 'Alphas' and then later, Rogan RB67. Unfortunately, in order to get them in anything but black, they must be custom ordered, with a pretty steep minimum count of 1000. Then, if you want all 3 Buchla sizes, you must, of course, make 3 custom orders. That's a spicy meatball, as they say.

The older black knobs are Davies. These are readily available.

If anyone hasn't already seen Mark Verbos' Buchla Blog-- you can find there much info, like this and everything else Buchla.

There are at least two "old design" Buchla knobs: Davies and Rogan. The Davies are the old black knobs, and Rogan are the old blue knobs.

I couldn't either, so I initially stayed away from those knobs, even though it turns out that I need to get a compression ring if I want that size Selco knob for the 6 mm D-shaft, with a 4.5 mm flat.

As near as I can tell, the compression ring is used when you need a little more "give" in the gripping action. I imagine that it would be most useful for metal shafts.

Also, I conducted the group buy for the RB67s in January, but they were all pre-sold.

However, I will be doing another group buy, maybe as early as late July-- as my finances permit. This time it will be for the larger size blue 'frequency' knobs. Just putting it out there for anyone interested...
