I just developed this on the breadboard tonight. I like it a lot. It needs developing in terms of adding a depth control - I'm thinking about how to implement that at the moment. I designed it for guitar really - easily adapted for any CV input though - just replace the phase shift oscillator with a CV input.

Good stuff, indeed it would be easy to convert to a CV input
happy to see more low voltage tube projects.
anyone care to do an oscillator? Very Happy
for a complete low voltage tube synth...

Yeah, that's mine too - I'm having a crazy time with low voltage tubes at the moment.

Certainly not stable oscilators though, but good for making a racket! I will develop it further at some stage but I can't see it being 1v/oct.......

Did you check the soundclip: http://www.aronnelson.com/DIYFiles/up/Crushed_Glass_Sample.mp3

I think if used as a modular panner with CV input instead of the LFO I would consider a unity gain buffer at the CV input.

Maybe the 10uf caps could be lowered too? They do slew a little - but also stop LFO ticking, so it's a trade off.

Maximum CV input is 6 volts - any higher and it starts to have the reverse effect.

Here's a clean soundclip: http://www.aronnelson.com/DIYFiles/up/Rhodes_Panner.mp3

Signal path: Rhodes Stage Piano 73 MK1 > Tube Stereo Panner > Soundcard > Wavelab

I've noticed some subsonic pumping -inaudible, but it registers in Wavelab - and I can see my speaker cones moving even when I'm not playing - so I've changed the two output caps from 1uf to 0.01.
