mn3207 bbd...what can i do with these? |
 |
|
let me start by saying i have never made a bbd circuit before.
so i found these online (mn3207 with clock chip as well) and i ordered a few of these new production BBD chips from visual sound. But after I ordered them I started worrying that they wont be the right chip for what I want to make as I havent seen them in any schematics. (i guess it was an impulse buy)
anyone know of any good delay/flanger/chorus schematics that use these or something like these? _________________ -------------------------------------------- check out various dan music at: http://www.myspace.com/lossnyc

You could build a Zombie Chorus. There is an mn3207 version...

I've understood it is a reissue of the beloved MN3007.
But works with different voltage (5v ?) and - as usally with reeditions - sounds more crappy/noisy than the original one.
(i'm no purist and hope this is all wrong)
(sorry) |

Hi:
I don't think that the MN3207 is a reissue of the MN3007, I think both was
originally made by Panasonic with the same functionality, but different
working voltages.
I bought some recently to make the DIM C, a clone of the Boss Dimension C
(do a search in the forum, there is thread about it).
But this chipset is used in a lot of stomp choruses. _________________ Sebo

If I remember correctly those were used in a lot of 80s-90s Ibanez analog choruses/ flangers. Shangai Belling still makes them under the name BL3207.
Please correct me if wrong. |

Indeed, the MN30xx and MN32xx are not interchangable. _________________ http://www.casia.org/modular/ |

hi loss,
one clock chip (mn3101/mn3102) can drive 8192 stages. so, as the mn3207 has 1024 stages, you can drive 8 of them with one clock chip (maybe that´s just true for the mn300x series, and the mn320x series is a little different...).
i recently saw a schematic of chained panasonic bbds, but can´t remember where...
you can have a look at the mn3005, it´s a 4096 stage bbd, and with this chip you can create pretty long delays. it´s not cheap, though...
best wishes,
tobias.
ps: when i find the bbd-chain schema, i´ll post them here |

has anyone the scheamtics for those? looks like a cool clone-project...
best wishes,

I got that circuit back in the 80s by writing a letter (remember them!!) to Yamaha. |
