electro-music 2006 rumor |
 |
|
This is just a little heads up. We are working on having electro-music 2006 next June 2-4, 2006 at the Cheltenham Art Center in Philadelphia. We can't officially announce it yet because we are still working out the details with the art center. Still, you might mark it on you calendars and start making your plans. Don't buy your air tickets yet, but start saving your pennies. _________________ --Howard

It's more than rumor now, it's official. We will set up a web page and make an official call for participation soon. If you were at electro-music 2005, I'm sure you'll start making plans to come to the 2006 event. If you weren't there, then you missed something great. Start making your plans today.
June 2-4, 2005 Cheltenham Art Center, Philadelphia. Price TBD, but not expensive. _________________ --Howard

howard, is there any kind of campground within 20-30min of the venue? i've been looking, but haven't found anything. boarding is by far the most expensive part of the event (and that money doesn't help put the event on).

Well, I don't know about 20 or 30 minutes, but I suspect there is some within 45 minutes though. _________________ --Howard

I can't look now, but we might be able to do better than that. It's something several people might be interested in, and it may be possible to car pool if we identify a good campground. _________________ --Howard

...and you could charge for showers! seriously though, camping would be a great option (even on the lawn of the arts center).

Honestly, who would ever need somewhere to crash? What happened to the good old "passing out in the lounge area" thingie? _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"

Like, you know, in the good old days the "powder room" truly meant the powder room. _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"

to tell the truth (and i doubt we could get away with it), i'd be happy to camp out in the big upstairs room of the art center (or anywhere else on the floor in the center). "campers" could chip in for a nearby hotel room for showers....i would predict late night ambient jams!

Can I just lurk in the shadows and shut up and do what I'm told?

| I recently finished remodeling my bathroom, of which there is only 1 in my house. (This story is for another thread). However, I did discover the wonder of Highway Truck Stops, which generally contain several coin operated showers. As long as there's a highway nearby, and trucks need to stop for diesel, then I'd guess you can get a shower there for a couple $$. |

true about the truck showers...on the other hand, if 10 people are camping out somewhere (or even scattered through a bunch of places), $10/each will rent a nice hotel room where showers can be had in much more comfort (it also might serve as an emergency retreat in case of really bad weather).

| If someone pays for my ticket to the festival, I'll let them crash at my house (pending my wife's approval). I live in the Philadelphia area, I have a car, and I have a spare bedroom or two (only one WC, though). |
