1. Random sample offset issue on Apples firewire driver for core audio.

2. OSX not being able to recognise my Windows XP 32 Hard disk anymore.

3. Bootcamp not supporting more than 2GB on MacPros (this is probably a firmware issue but I live in hope)

Cheers

That stuff always happens when apple comes out with a new OS ver. Its clockwork! It's like when I installed tiger - like 5 months after it came out to play it safe - I still got shafted... Protools failed kontact failed and a load of other stuff.

Dont install it unless it's a must!! Shocked

It's a bit late isn't it? What with 10.5 just around the corner? To be honest (apart from Dashboard) I was a bit disappointed with 10.4. Perhaps 10.4.9 will be as good as 10.3.9?

And it isn´t a must if you are stuck with a suite of software that isn´t compatible. Very Happy

The lesson is that a DAW is a DAW and should be kept in pristine condition. No updates of the OS or whatever until you know that the lot will play well.

Basically my MacPro running osx is no good as a Daw currently, I just use bootcamp to run XP.

I run all the updates in hope on osx just to check if it can do the job!

At least the new version of Cubase on osx is much better, cpu load is way down. Gradually we will get there.

Cheers

I settled on Logic basically because I wanted something that was good and in sync with the OS updates. So far that has worked well for me.

I used to always accidently hit the disc eject button and the new version adds a little time lag to that, so it's helpful. Its also interesting to note that the volume out of my MacBook is now 50% louder.

They must have noticed just how much louder XP goes when running it in Bootcamp. This is a nice update then? I still haven't downloaded it Embarassed
