Save Patches into Slots Subject description: ughh |
 |
|
Hello. Wondering if there is any way to store patches into individual slots and have them STAY there. When i turn off Nord Modular my patches saved in individual slots don't stay there. I've turned off memory protect. In the manual it states that the slots are a temporary place to store patches. ugh.. is this true? _________________ Best Wishes

You can save the current set of programs in the slots by doing a save of the synths settings:
p59 of manual
SAVE SYNTH SETTINGS
Pressing SHIFT+STORE will store any settings that you have made in the Synth Settings menus of Nord Modular or in the Editor. This function saves the SLOT selection including the patch locations that were loaded to the SLOTS, MIDI channels for the SLOTS and PANEL SPLIT activation. The settings saved with SAVE SYNTH SETTINGS will automatically be recalled when you turn on the Nord Modular. The Synth Settings menus will be described further in “Synth settings in the system menu” on page 52 and page 69. _________________ Jez

'Save Synth Settings' works for only one set up for all four Slots. Normally a synth hase a performance mode, in which one can store all the settings of the complete synthesizer. All Clavia synths, accept the NM Classic, have this feature... You have to upload all the Patches yourself by hand. Maybe there is a tool somewhere I don't know about?

There is a sysex command that lets you send Patches to Each slot (one at a time). This can be easily done with Midiox et al..
But "storing" them so they are loaded on the next power up- looks like it has to be done the way Jez described. |

In a way I was thinking about a computer tool which makes it possible to load more Patches to more slots at once. One to four Patches just place in a tool and by one push on a button they are all loaded; the same procedure for the next Patches. A kind of extern Performance mode. The feature you described is already in the Editor, because he asked you to which Slot you want to upload the Patch.

Once the four patches are loaded in 4 slots, you still need to use the editor to save them in the synth. This is tedious- almost not worth the effort (or is it?).
Clavia didn't give us much capabilities with G2 sysex implementation, compared to the Waldorf microwave.
This has an incredibly powerful sysex implementation, and an extremely-well documented one at that. |

A Performance can be just a single Patch. Performance mode can be used to organize the synth related to the songs you need to play. The Classic has no Performance mode, so on stage it's always a lot of trouble getting the synth prepared for the next song. Clavia made the best Performance mode on the NordLead3.

If you have the KB version, yes.
