Better than Myspace Subject description: New synth website for all synth musicians |
 |
|
Hey guys- I know it's the 'hip thing to do this week' to use myspace's music and artist pages... especially being free. But, you all know how limited your page and music can be... (what they allow you to upload, etc.).
I was turned-on to a new website which is dedicated to promoting electronic and synthesizer music and sounds to the world. Many of you have your own website, I know. But this puppy is free! Upload your music, videos, photos... set up your page... you can limit music to 'streaming only', or 'streaming only X seconds worth' (Hi and Lo bitrates)... allow downloads (hi and lo)... song info, artist info, band member info, album info, complete stats (even for each song)!!!, reviewing, comments, blog, mailbox, you can do your own 'radio stations' and 'TV channels'... and I'm probably forgetting some additional stuff. Also, the administrator is preparing the site so that you can sell your music, too. And all this is free... no strings... no spam... no spyware... no hassles. I checked it out... gave it a shot and signed-up, started a simple page... uploaded a couple of things... and gave it try. I like it!
Since it's just starting up, it's not well known.... yet... but I figure it won't be long. So check it out... if you like it, spread the word. After all, don't we all gain from keeping synthesizer music up front and in the spotlight for the world to see? I think so. Robert Rich has joined, too. (Oh... and by the way... I have nothing to do with this site, other than having signed-up and creating my own artist page).
This is especially good if you don't have your own 'real' webpage... are using my space, or Yahoo, or one of those others. It's good if you like to share cool sounds and patches you've come up with... sequences, or even full or partial songs/tunes. The is a space/size limit... but if you really need more... and the administrator agrees... he'll give you more... free.

@Synthmusician
question: ive uploaded 3 tracks but can only see one of them in the starting page. all songs are there but can only be accessed by clicking on the song picture of the single song. is there a way to list all the songs on one page?

You need to send an email to the administrator at synthmusician-dot-com... not here. This is not affiliated in any way.
Just log back into your account at synthmusician-dot-com, and look for the 'contact' or 'contact administrator' links (they all go to the same place).
To answer your question.... yes, there is a way. Just upload your songs, one at a time. Fill out the info on each song at that time. Later, you can come back and edit each song, even change the order... but always go back to check how things look by leaving the control page, and returning to 'your page'.... the one that everyone else sees. _________________ ~Morbius~

Interesting concept. I've seen a few others around like it but nothing specifically tailored to synthesizer dominant music.
I enjoyed that track topping the chart called Equilibrium. Very nice. _________________ It is at least ten times more difficult to get a good synthesizer sound than on an acoustic instrument. - Giorgio Moroder |

Yeah, this site is great
We've had fun posting our free music here, and it's something else to find a site that caters for synth music. It's got an easy going feel to the entire community there. Good find. _________________ http://key-generation.com
