I'm about to begin a project to build an analog bit crusher pedal. I purchased a plastic project box from allelectronics.com that of course comes with a brushed aluminum cover. What should I do to ensure it's grounded properly? Does a wire get soldered to the cover, and where is said wire connected to on the circuit board?

Also, I know all too well about hum problems with pedals. Anything I should know about this to prevent it before I start?

Thanks

Not sure how you make an analogue bit crusher... Got any references, I'm curious Smile

The alu panel is not easily solderable, it's probably best to use a screw and a solder lug. To combat hum, it would be best if the box was all metal, but since you already have a box, why not just try the circuit and listen for hum.

Aha - it's a high frequency sample and hold that makes a staircase of you signal. So it'll sort of give the effect reducing both sample rate and bit depth - neat Smile
