Nord Stage EX - Starting new Subject description: Thoughts on basics |
 |
|
Just replaced my Alesis QS with a Stage EX 88. I am looking for the best online community for support. There are some apparant holes in the manual and dome trial and error is involved. Could use you advice.
There is no master list you can print of starting Piano, Program and Patch names And locations that I can find. This you have to hunt through them all to find things. A master list like Aledis has would be nice
You evidently have to put the revised Piano sounds in the same slot location or it will throw off the related programs. The manual does not say this that I can find
When I tried to update the Programs from tv most recent online version, which actually may be the same as my factory loads best I can tell, it says "insufficient memory" and will not all, even though I have over 64m free at the time.
This is all found in trial and error. Some other help would be appreciated on what else is out there
Love the keyboard, just looking for an online support community that is active. I will say that Nord has been responsive, confirming the piano placement issue quickly via email |

maybe you have to delete and clean the flash memory before you can dump a big factory list
the dump may be 200 mb and 64 free is not enuf
im not certain though... |

What gearaholic is saying sounds right. But if you've got a Nord Stage EX, chances are that the factory sounds are the most recent anyway. Unless you want to swap out some harpsichord sounds perhaps.
I think the manual does say somewhere that the programs will point to the piano sub-categories, but if there's no sound there, to simply press the variation button and choose another sound, and then re-save. I have a classic NS, and I had to do that when I got rid of all the Steinway sounds and the Rain piano.
Good luck with your Stage... I've had mine a few weeks now and it is indispensable in my setup! |
