Crumar Performer - | |

| Hi there, this is my first post, so if its in the wrong place, please move it.
I have had this in storage for a while now, and two weeks ago, got it out to overhaul it.

Its an A serial, with the "moog" type, transistor ladder filter, on the brass section.

There appears to be a problem with noise, when the sustain circuit is deployed, or to put it another way, when the brass is bypassed.

It increases, and i am guessing here, by about 6-9 db.

I have some spare boards for this synth, so i swapped the brass and the string board, and it made no difference to the noise, I don't have spare boards for the delay circuits, so i am hoping someone here can point me in the right direction.

I have checked the separate outputs, its makes no difference.

The other thing I would like to do, is to be able to inject a sync signal, to lock the LFO speed to the output of my Kenton Pro 2, ARP out. via a switched jack, is this possible? and if so how?

I have attached the service manual.

Any help would be much appreciated.

| just FYI I had a crumar Ds-1 that I probably fixed almost EVERY section on in the course of 2 years. I finally sold it. They're cheap, and have a bad rep --both fr a good reason. I'd honestly think hard about spending too much time on any of their synths... I mean, when youre done, and it works perfect..you still have crap, you know?
just my opinion-as far as help, I can point you to couple places-first theres a site called Synthtaur or Syntaur-if its not around still im sure theres a mirror that has parts and part lists. And try harmony-central. I posted a lot f stuff under the names The Resonator and Burning when I was wrking on the DS-1 and there were plenty f people contributing from their experience with crumar junk.

good luck man-wish I could be more psitive, but its just my pinion-maybe youve got a good model or one thats already been repaired with non crumar parts
