Rise of the Retrobots: A Call for Submissions Subject description: Multimedia Robot themed Electronic and Experimental music compilation - seeking submissions |

TAO X Productions and Nightmare Sound are now putting out an official call for submissions for a new collaborative compilation, "Rise of the Retrobots".
Recently, I've been working on a number of tracks which could loosely be called 'Robot Oriented Music" (R.O.M. for short;), music one might consider, by, for, or about Robots. This has inspired me to embark upon a collaborative multi-media compilation of 'Robot Music', Images, and Video all reflecting a SciFi audio-visual venture into the realm of Electro, Experimental, Techno, Cinematic, and other such oddities that would best portray the future-retro vibe of 'Old School SciFi' meets 'New School Electronica' in an all out Robot Extravaganza !
RISE OF THE RETROBOTS: A CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS (electro-music.com forum)
Please visit the site below for more details on participation to see if you might be interested in collaborating and/or submitting an original piece for this evolving robot compilation project. Please send me your feedback on this idea. It's your ideas and contributions that will help make this an excellent and diverse multi-media experience. We have already started to receive some excellent submissions!
PLEASE GO TO THE RELEVANT ROTR SITES LISTED BELOW AND READ THE SUBMISSION MATERIALS CAREFULLY!
This is an ambitious and evolving experimental project that will rely on the competence and creativity of its participants. There may be a certain level of ambiguosity here while I am still trying to work out how the multiple artistic disciplines can/will fuse together, and sort through all the unforeseen guideline requirements functioning in mixed media presents.
I am seeking communication FIRST, notifying me of your interest to join the project, your particular reason why you feel this comp is right for you/your particular music or art, and a link to a site that will show me some examples of your work that would reflect a theme, style, or high level of craft and skill that would make me inclined to agree. At that point I will contact you personally and arrange for all file transfer scenarios and associated submission clarification. ROTR is attempting to combine mixed artistic disciplines and foster unique collaborations, so this isn't quite the same as one of the more traditional 'drop off your track and wait' music compilations, even though as a matter of practicality, a part of it may work that way as well. I want to encourage everyone interested, especially those wanting to submit a track, to go to:

and click to become a follower of the Blog.
Here there will be updates for this project and much other cool stuff, including SPECIAL OFFERS AND CONTESTS AVAILABLE ONLY TO BLOG FOLLOWERS and even more specific benefits FOR ARTISTS WHO HAVE SUBMITTED MATERIAL FOR THIS COMP. You do not have to do this to submit for the comp, but I strongly recommend it so you don't miss out on some of the insider participatory aspects, contests and free stuff that will be made available ONLY to Blog followers and/or myspace friends for the project.
