The easiest would be to use the rotary switch as there is one unused section that you could wire up to drive the LEDs. Wire the LEDs to the individual switches for the VCA and VCF. Wire two steering diodes between these and Both switch.

You could do the same with the toggle switch if you can find a 4PDT On-Off-On switch.

I agree. Leaving an op-amp unused is a sin! Very Happy

I think I'll be using two reversing attenuators and 3 input mixers for my board. I've modified your drawing to suit my needs (attached). As you can see I've actually had to add an extra dual op-amp (TL072). I figured I could glue this to the backside of the frontpanel or on the PCB if space permits (I think Analog Devices referred to this practice, as the 'Dead Bug' technique!).

You still have one op-amp unused! You don't need the last inverter. Use the Inv Out as the input to the CV jumper pin 2. Leave out R24. Now change the "signs" on your CV level controls (e.g. swap the + and -). At the positive side, you are going through 2 inverters. On the negative side you are going through one inverter.

Wow, you're good. That was a very good explanation.

That just leaves me wondering what I can use the last op-amp for? (I could use a single op-amp)

I just got my boards last weekend, and can hardly wait to build them. I was wondering whether or not I need to do anything special with the levels, as I am putting some of them in a regular 10V signal system, but I want to put the rest in a Buchla-style system with its standard 1V signals. Is there anything I should watch out for?

Big thanks to Thomas, Don, Peter, and the other participants!

Boards arrived safe and sound in Prague today.

Thanks to DJ Thomas White for running the order, Don for granting permission and the rest of you for providing this excellent community!

I don't have access to my PCBs for this project at the moment, but am working on my panel--a little obsessive maybe Shocked

Can anyone tell me the spacing of the stand-off holes? Or is there a 1:1 image of the board anywhere? I want to parallel the PCB to the panel using all 4 posts.

EDIT: I found Thomas' posting of the PCB:
http://electro-music.com/forum/download.php?id=14373
but it's not in scale. If anyone could tell me the actual dimensions of the board, I think I can figure this out.

I have my micrometer here for measuring capacitor outlines on another PCB so it will be easy to measure this PCB.

ExpressPCB miniboard service is 3.8" x 2.5"

Mine measures 96.54mm x 63.55mm - pretty close.
The mounting hole grid is 74.25mm x 55.0mm
The center of the mounting hole is 18.0mm from the potentiometer side edge.

That would put the center of the opposite mounting hole at 4.49mm from the MOTM power connector edge. It measures 4.5mm so it checks as I'm just estimating the center of the holes.

Someone else please verify.

There's also a fairly good photo of the PCB on my site. Take it and scale it until the image dimensions are 3.8" x 2.5". That should be close enough. http://modularsynthesis.com/nrm/lopass/lopass.htm

muchas gracias, senior. I think this will get me there.

Hey guys,

Postage is WEIRD! Almost all domestic boards shipped one one day. The late domestic orders shipped with the international boards 3 days later (last Friday). In batch 1, Euro orders also made it to people before some US ones. If boards are not the in 2 more weeks I'll work something out for each of you. So far only 1 package has come back that I need to send back out from Hanz Muns. They're coming guys!

Now, any early build reports yet?

I bought two of these last year. Have there been any revisions on the latest batch?

If so, are there any left?

Also do they have that matt stuff on the pads that my 60/40 solder has a hard time sticking to?

Mine is assembled except for the vactrols which are still shipping from Allied. Not very exciting yet but there is a photo on my page.

I'm just getting started on my boards and I'm glad to report that my standard 60/40 solder is working very nicely.
Many thanks Thomas!

havn't built any, but i will populate the Boards soon.

LektroiD wrote:

i use >> S-sn62Pb36AG2 << solder.
this works with every kind of Boards perfect. I think it is the AG2 part.
I once had a 2 hours call with thre company and was forwarded to a specialist who thought i'm a company too.
He was very kind and explained me everything. ...............Just remember that i have the right solder.........Laughing it's the best.

when it was over and i had to solder with other solder, also that 60/40, i was soldering like a beginner. everything was a mess.

I I noticed that Thomas' bom from mouser has specified 4 vishay precision pots for the mixing sections. Are precision pots specified for a reason? Otherwise I will buy cheaper pots. Thanks.

No, you can use just about anything. Those spectrols were expensive when they were $ each, now at 12+$ each they're ridiculous. Alphas will work fine.

Thanks! That's what I was thinking about doing.

Can you give us a Mouser Part # for what you're going to swap in place?

cheers
Steve
