Have a few questions before I pull the trigger on this board.

1. I know you can split and layer on this board, but how much can I do this? For instance can I put in a "Light My Fire" mode. What I mean is have the Vox Continental on the upper part of the keyboard, then like a Rhodes layered with a VA synth bass on the lower part to emulate a Rhodes Piano Bass?

2. When loading in a new piano...like the new Piano with string resonance that you can download from their site, do you have to erase something else on the board to make room for it? Do you have to erase a lot to make room if you do?

3. I'm mainly looking for the "bread&butter" sounds. Great piano, great clav, great rhodes, great organ....and the ability to layer/split the keyboard. The Stage seems to be more in line with what I want than say the Electro 3, yes?

I don't have any other keyboard at the moment, but this seems to be the board I"m looking for.

Thanks, the manual answered my first question, but it didn't take into account the new OS and the new piano samples.

Does loading in the big new Yamaha C7 piano overwrite the existing grand piano on the board? Or does it put it in a new place?

the new NS EX has 256 Mb of available memory. it's up to you how to handle it.

I've found now that I put the Blue Swede in, I don't use the Yamaha pianos anymore. The Swede has such a fuller and rounder sound, but the Yamahas I found got really thin when you laid into the keys...
