diy loop sampler Subject description: diy loop sampler
hi, this is my first post here. Does anyone know of available schematics for a loop sampler, ala an akai headrush or boss loop station? I would like to build my own effects unit, a box with some lfos, a cv analog delay, and a loop sampler; I can't find any info on diy loop samplers. thanks everyone!!

Hello!
This is a fantastic resource from forum member Bugbrand. You'll find some schematics for a lo-fi sampler/looper, and if you dig around, i am fairly sure he's got notes on his work with ISD sampling chips. I hope this helps you out!
And also here's a link to the schematic archive of Experimentalists Anonymous, there is tonnes of stuff in there (including a couple of loop/ sampling circuits)!
Hello!
Bugbrand have a new site... I don't find the sampler on this new site!?
have you a direct link?
Looking for a cheep looper I found a kit for a recorder/player ICED4003
I think it is a modern version of ICED25xx ... but I don't understeand if it have a loop function .pdf here [click]
this is just an idea, but something i've always wanted to try.
It revolves around a modified cheap tape player and one of those really short loop tapes you can get.
the idea is to mod the tape player some how through the use of control voltage switches (...4066? maybe even mr mimms 555 switch) to bridge the connection between the record function contacts.
if the tape player is always on play, and you can figure out how to make the above idea work, you could have yourself a wonky CV tape looper.
Plus, i've had lots of success 'circuit bending' tape recorders to add distortions and even slowing the tape speed to a crawl. _________________ home made noise and electronic ill-logic

I've seen you do some pretty impressive stuff in years past, i bet you could pull it off with flying colours _________________ home made noise and electronic ill-logic
These are 2 nice lo fi loopers using 2 different chip series. I made a PCB layout for the Payback 1, using 25xx chips. I've attached the files to this post.
It's not easy to find the chips these days, unfortunately, but hopefully this is useful to somebody.

My dealer says me that ISD25xx has been improved for many years.
They upgraded internal memory and sampling frequency...
I think he says to me that ISD4003 is a modern version of 25xx chips...
Right, exactly. Other chip series have been designed since the 25xx, so the 25xx is obsolete and therefore hard to find. The schematics above will not work with 4003 or anything else besides 25xx.
