Klee finished..mostly works! But pattern load is kaput Subject description: SeeK advice on where to look please |
 |
|
Finally got it all together last night..but have a problem immediately in that the load push button does nothing. Load button has continuity and seems to be working OK, but has no influence on anything. Leds light, but these have nothing to do with the pattern switches..eg when I power it up often all leds will be lit except 12 and 8. Manual load switch does nothing to change anything.
Step switch will cycle the leds through, and everything else seems to be working (but hard to tell for sure because it has failed the very first test).
It outputs correctly when clocked and all functions..I think...are working as they should except loading the pattern switches.Glide OK, Merge OK etc
Can't find this problem in the forum, and I am a newbie to DIY, only built about five Elby modules and a xoxbox so far, so am hopeless at understainding and troubleshooting...
Any ideas please as to where I should be looking? |

First question. Are the 4034s made by SCL or TI?
Second question: have you checked your digital ground? Pattern switches tie high, so they should bring levels down to logic 0 to set a pattern. _________________ Garret: It's so retro.

Parker: Like, old and outdated.

Klee fixed and working like a trojan |
 |

Many thanks Edison, but I tracked down the fault...I had soldered resistor R20 into the wrong throughole (as did somebody else on the forum I think). This resistor has a great effect, and now, it is working perfectly.
A warning to all Klee builders to watch those througholes that are under the resistors...an easy mistake to make I think (especially when you are tired, as I suspect all Klee builders will get!)
Many thanks to Scott, the mods and all on Electro Music for making this fabulous project possible - even for a novice like me.
regards
