Nord G2 drivers with windows 8 |
 |
|
Hi All Im new to this forum. Im struggling to get the G2 drivers into windows 8 on my laptop. (The G2 editoritself installed fine.) Contacted Nord who said the drivers probably wont work on newer operating systems however Im getting conflicting stories form people who have the G2 editor and drivers working fine on windows 8.
None of the driver instructions given by Nord seem to match the layout of the system of windows 8 as they seem to be intended for XP.
Any help at all would be greatly appreciated, Ive googled this to hell and cant fond any specific threads.
many thanks |

I have the G2 running on a couple of Win8 machines.
If I recall correctly, I just used the Clavia USB driver for the Lead/Wave etc. Its version 3.something. It's been pretty stable compared to the old driver on Vista. |

Many thanks people this is very reassuring that others have it working.
A g2 editor for android is extremely interesting. Is this available to download or is it still early days? |

It is early days, but if you have an android device lying around with "host usb" capabilities, you can give it a shot. You can download it here http://www.bverhue.nl/g2dev/?p=146 on the bottom of the page.
I experienced some usb connection dropouts that I couldn't get solved. I wonder if it's just my device or something more.
Because I'm very busy with another project, I haven't found any time to work on it further.
If you can't get the clavia usb driver to work on your laptop, you can also try my open source editor. It uses the libusb driver, which you can install on top of the clavia driver or as a stand alone driver. Take a look at the help file. _________________ My old OS NMG2 editor: http://sourceforge.net/projects/nmg2editor/?source=directory

An android editor does sound very appealing. I shall certainly give it a go! |

Just to provide information the Wave v 3.02 USB driver allows my windows 10 machine to edit my G2.

Very good to know, although not entirely surprising.
The 3.02 driver is, as far as I know, the current driver for the Wave and all more recent Nord products. When G2 OS 1.62 came out, the driver for it at the time was the same as the Wave driver at that time.
The "official" driver for the G2 is not, as far as I know, appropriately signed for 64-bit Windows. Therefore, you cannot install that driver on Windows 7 or later. However, 3.02 *is* digitally signed, and because both of these drivers are intended to work with the Wave, and because the Wave is apparently driver-compatible with the G2, it is reasonable to believe that the 3.02 driver will work with the G2 under current versions of Windows.
I can confirm that it works beautifully on Windows 7. I am glad to hear confirmation that it also works on Windows 10. |
