Do you have some patches or connections that you do regularly out of habit?

Every time I start noodling with my Lunetta I have a habit of making some of the same connections. Instead of stressing about it I've come to embrace it as a kind of style choice.

Fast Oscillator > 4040 (four of these, for audio rate octaves and slower data)
The outputs of the 4040s into NAND and XOR gates, chosen for a nice breakup of signal.
The outputs of the gates into 4015 shift registers, clocked by one of the faster 4040 outputs.

All with the intention of just getting weird irregular blinkies.

So I decided to make it a standalone box. Here it is so far, need to finish the wiring.

It's still made with header pins under the hood, so that if the patch gets boring I can make some changes.

How about you?

I often use my lunettas to create patterns/sequences, which isn't the most interesting thing you can do with it,
but I don't think I really have any habits. One combination I do like though is the fibonacci generator controlling
the chromatic melody generator Very Happy .

nice box btw.

As you can tell from this thread http://electro-music.com/forum/topic-63103.html for example, I am fascinated by the patterns you can get from feeding data back into a shift register via complex functions. That complex function could be implemented via a lookup table (e.g. using a 4051) and that table may even be driven by some of the outputs of the shift register in turn. The patterns this produces reach from very simple and short ones to long and complex ones similar to what pseudo random generator LFSRs generate.
