Hiya,

Is there any simple but effective circuit simulation software out there? preferably with a scope as i specifically want to try variations with R2R ladders and see what steppy waveforms i get.

Also preferably free!

and i want the moon on a stick too

There is also Digital Works*. Its library is rather limited although you should be able to recreate chips with it.
I use it from time to time to test some ideas (like the fibonacci generator Wink).

*I don't think that is the official site so download at your own risk.
