I was considering getting this as a replacement: https://www.amazon.com/GoTEK-SFR1M44-U100-Emulator-Industrial-Embroidery/dp/B0762NCHC6/ref=asc_df_B0762NCHC6?mcid=1c44b137ddfb3084a84ab79a01f6b157&tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=693535620612&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=15581086412802231085&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1016202&hvtargid=pla-570573645288&th=1
A GoTEK SFR1M44-U100 3.5 Inch 1.44MB USB SSD Floppy Drive Emulator Grey it's 34 PIN but will that fit into the sampler? _________________ Apple Mac Pro 3.1 2.88 GHz. Intel Xeon Quad

Hi there
I had a similar situation last year when i wanted to SD card my A3000 v2 sampler , i bought a floppy emulator then realised my mistake, 1.44mb at a time was not appealing , what i really needed was to replace my 2.1Gb internal 10000rpm scsi hard disk drive inside that i had fitted in 2001 which was starting to sound like a 747 passenger plane taking off on runway.
Early this year i ordered a ZuluSCSI RP2040 , which using your own pcb mount pillars can be fitted inside the A3000, the zulu board allows me to have it set up as a virtual rack of HDD's , i kept the SD cards capacity a lowish one 16Gb and i have 6-virtual HDD's at 2Gb each, and each drive is partitioned into 8 partitions after formatting them using the sampler it's self, (set up to suit my studio).
I done a lot of searching for set up info and i gleaned enough info from gearspace.com to get me running. |

The HD inside the A3000 is working but the Floppy drive will not light up when inserting a floppy disk..so it will not load a sample. That's why I would like to install the GoTech USB emulator replacement in the bay. I have done a bit of research and it appears the 34-PIN spec should work and I have seen that AKAI owners have used them for those samplers so I thought I's ask here if anyone else used them just to clarify.
That said I also have an external Yamaha CRW4416SX SCSI CD rom drive that I used to load larger samples and it turns on and works but the A3000 will not ....for some reason that I can't figure out...load samples...which is really super annoying.I thought getting the emulator would be a quicker way of fixing things because right now the only way of getting anything is to record samples straight in. _________________ Apple Mac Pro 3.1 2.88 GHz.
