Yep, it's one of the main things I do with my G2 Engine. See this set, where any drum distortion you hear is probably form the nord: http://soundcloud.com/speakonion/speak-onion-live-7-9-11-in Last edited by speak_onion on Sat Nov 12, 2011 9:15 am; edited 1 time in total |

Just read the very sad news about the passing of Rob Hordijk
I learned more about synthesis with his tutorials and his posts here in electro-music than anything else. He was such a great source of knowledge. My condolences to the family and friends. Thanks for all!
RIP, master. _________________ Cheers,

Unfortunately, the amazing Rob Hordijk's tutorial is no longer online.
It was an invaluable source of knowledge, not only for G1 and G2 users, but to anyone interested in synthesis in general.
Does anyone have a copy of the files?
I couldn't think of a better place to host the tutorial than here, at electro-music.com, to keep his memory and knowledge available for years to come.
Would that be possible? _________________ Cheers,

It is a sort of a miracle already that that xs4all user site was kept up for so long.
I do not have it myself I think ... but great that burp has :)
Sad that things like this disappear, it makes the memories misty. _________________ Jan

I'm not sure if it works as it should. Could you upload your version as well?
I tried to remove things that Internet Archive puts in the html files, but it would be better to have the files as close to the original original files as possible. _________________ Cheers,

It looks ok to me, except some odd characters around 'overeasy' and a bit of a strange layout for the toc .. did some minor changes for that ...
Will now wait if Burp has something to add to this ... for now you can see it @
edit: I've removed the rrr one, it was - the sss one still is there : bluehell.nl / rrr / [ https://bluehell.nl/sss/ ]
edit: I've removed the sss one as well, theworkshop canbe found on the wiki : https://electro-music.com/wiki/pmwiki.php?n=Articles.SynthWorkShop and it can be downloaded fromtere as well. _________________ Jan

I notice my version seems slightly bigger (the zipfiles) so there seems to be a difference. _________________ if you don't know where you're going, you will allways arrive |

Yes seems so .. had to rename Index.htm to index.htm as the webserver would not auto-serve the one with a capital I... it seems mac-ified a bit with an AppleTitle and an AppleIcon .. but .. it has the characterset set to windows-1252 which probably is original .. knowing how Rob would create html .. with µsoft tools.
Oh and the structure is a bit different too the rrr one has sub folders, the sss one not; I did not look at the details much though.
Now see : https://electro-music.com/wiki/pmwiki.php?n=Articles.SynthWorkShop - the workshop can be downloaded from there as well
edit: .. o hey there was a voting tool for that .. ah .. that's only on the first post in a thread it seems .. well .. then post here .. or i'll use the dice
And thank you Burp and dorremifasol _________________ Jan

Ah no, for me there is no visible difference either .. the macified one seems closer to the original than the waybacked one .. to me _________________ Jan

Burp, in your zip there's no "SynthesisWorkshops.htm" file.
Jan, thanks for uploading the tutorial!
I remember having read about another tutorial more oriented to the first modular, or is it my imagination? _________________ Cheers,

Thank you all for your archiving efforts.
Hordijk's G2 pages are great inspiration and knowledge source. |

The source page no longer exists but is available in the webarchive.
I thought it might be useful to someone.
https://web.archive.org/web/20070515203612/http://www.clavia.se/nordmodular/Modularzone/index.html
I just bought Clavia nord modular G2
I'm a bit late
I will be grateful for any other helpful learning materials.
Regards.

I've started going through them, and can usually figure out how to make the examples work on the G2. However, not having a Modular, I don't know for sure if I'm getting it right. So I am curious: Has anyone updated these tutorials to use G2 patches? |

This one I think? :: https://electro-music.com/forum/post-415660.html#415660
That is in the g2ools folders ... probably the dx patch converter is there too .. or maybe even converted patches .. i did see the original yamaha syx files somewhere on one of my harddisks btw. but not any converted patches.
And & congrats on the Nord and have fun
Edit - ow .. i thought you had asked for those - maybe already found .. I answered in the wrong place anyway _________________ Jan
