Sample Packs? |
 |
|
Hi all
I was wondering if someone here is buying / creating their own professional sample packs and wouldn’t mind giving me some tips about it?
I want to start creating professional sample packs, but since my passion is to create sounds, rather than buying made sounds, it’s really hard for me to understand what people are actually interested in…
What kind of samples are the most wanted, and what kind of price people expect to pay for them?
I have done some research and see that the amount of sample packs you can find is really huge and diverse, both in terms of content and price, but it’s really hard to figure out which ones are actually successful, and for what price, since some stores do really huge promotions…
I want to keep doing sample packs like these two free packs I made before:
- A starter sample pack, full of electronic sounds created from scratch using a Clavia Nord Modular G2X and a Kyma Capybara 320. Features one shot drum sounds and drones, melodic and rhythmic sequences, chords and single waveforms! - https://synth-ing.blogspot.com/2023/12/free-stuff-synth-ing-xmas-2023-sample.html
- A Roland TR909 Kick sample pack! Features both unprocessed sounds and processed sounds (with a Clavia Nord Modular G2X, Frostwave The Resonator and Lexicon PCM60), in order to give classic 909 Kicks along with some more special new sounding kicks! - https://synth-ing.blogspot.com/2023/09/free-stuff-happy-909-day-with-our-new.html
So more into sound design, either creating unique sounds from scratch or processing classic sounds with more unique chains, rather than creating full beats with stems, despite some simpler loops are always welcome!
I got some good feedback on those sample packs and I think they are unique enough to be worth something, but I’m not sure how much would be a fair price for each of them, or even if they are that interesting to many people to make it profitable?
Or should I not think much about it and just go for it cause it is more of a matter of trying and be confident?
Thank you all in advance for any feedback!
Best regards, Paulo |
