Hey! Steve! You found us! sonkosonko wrote: | ... 1) what must I do to transmit the changes ( up and down ) of the octave shift on the keyboard into my logic 8 ? it transfers of course all pedal, midi notes and volume etc datas. but NOT the octave changes.....any idea ? it is importnat cause the lead has only 49 keys... I have to say, that there IS a reaction in the transport window while pushing the button, but no effect... | Try pushing both buttons of the Octave Shift and hold for a second (or two...) The setting will be reversed: the active octave setting LED is out, the rest shines. The Keyboard is in Global mode and so is the Midi Out. It will send all 8 octaves when using the Shift. Note the individual Slot Octave Shift stays the same like in normal mode. [Manual Page 112]
I wonder what will happen when holding one key and shifting the keyboard. Will the one hold note(s) stay in the original octave or will they shift together with the new notes? Never tried it, but I think they will stay as they were... Quote: | 2) is there any chance to change the velocity scale which is send to the computer ? it reacts a bit diffent to my masterkeyboard which i used before !!! thanx folks for your time and help !!! | Not on the synth, but there are work arounds, like the computer or a G2 Midi Patch. You can use MidiMod for this, a tool developed by Blue Hell, the guy who threw you in this forum

[moderator] Some parts of the discussion were done by e-mail, so for the sake of the community I quote here [/moderator] sonkosonko wrote: | hmmmm...to honest: te octave shift dosnt work. notin happens when I press down the two buttons... ? ideas ? | I don't know Logic 7, but maybe somebody else does.
You wrote the changing to reversed LEDs (Global Keyboard) doesn't work...
Is there any possiblity Logic is sending any Midi data to the Lead at all times?
Is there a Midi echo?
To test this unplug the Midi cables (special Midi In) at the synth.
First unplug both.
Check if the Global Keyboard setting want to be active then.
Then check the procedure using the Midi Out (on the synth) connected to the Midi interface.
If all works, search for a Midi Through disable function in Logic 7.
Mostly this cures the problem. Quote: | I ve got it ! It need to be the SHIFT button and then the octave button ! that works ..... | Oops!
I mixed up the NordLead2 and the NordLead3.
Indeed, [Manual page 112] clearly writes Shift. Quote: | one more question here: as nordlead decided NOT to have usb or Coaxial or optical (!) i found out that the saving presets and programm ( all banks ) is NOT easy going and easy to restore back on the shynt.
look what happened: i saved the sounds on logic 7, after a while I wanted to make shure that it is all right and played them back into the nordlead. THE BANK it self ereased! it just disapeared.... crazy ! | The Midi thing could be the trouble loading the Bank.
Probably you loaded a complete empty file into the synth or this problem already occured when uploading into Logic 7, I don't know. Not using Logic means I can't reproduce the problem...
Anyway, never load a Bank into a memory location you want to keep, even when it should be the same. Uploading is always replacing! A single file (Program or Performance) are loaded into an Edit Buffer, which has to be saved by hand to the memory. Bank uploading works in most synths always destructive...
I thought the NordLead3 had 8 memory banks...?
Always us the factory presets banks when checking things like this, because these Progarms are available on the internet.
If you're on PC you could use the NordLead3 Sound Manager. It is very simple to use it to back up all on the computer, so you'll never lose the Programs See http://www.clavia.se/main.asp?tm=oldproducts&clpm=Nord_Lead_3&clnl3m=Downloads
