Just received some worthless spam in my private Electromusic mailbox (which I didn't even know I had).

Here's the text:

Well, I wouldn´t call this "hacked". We have just been visited by a motivated hiphop dude with his own board. He was probably just looking for new recruits for his board, which does of course look a little bit deserted right now.
I guess he has sent various messages of that kind to a lot of members here. I got this message:

Yeah, I guess I thought that these had been "hacked" because I was otherwise unable to imagine why he picked me out of all 500+ (?) members.

Putting up an introduce notice that everyone can see is OK, but contacting people via PM or through the email thingie is abuse, IMHO. Does anyone disagree?

I agree, Mosc, but I also think most of this must´ve been done manuallly (I got a different message requesting me to be a mod there) so I don´t expect this´ll be repeated that often.

Like Electro I kinda felt for the guy, I gave him some advise on getting out of the catch22, hope he reads his replies.

Well, you are right. We can call it abuse, but I am not annoyed by this really. Hmm.. it depends on if he actually manually messaged absoluteley every member here. That would really be abuse, but also an impressive feat. Very Happy

I hope he reads Kassen´s´advice. There are far worse things a hiphop fan could do than dedicate himself to community building.

I didn't get a message, so he's not PMing everybody. You guys should feel complimented. He probably looked around the board a bit, saw who knew their shit in the discussions and singled you guys out based on that.
