What is Thereminvox.com?

Thereminvox.com covers news and issues about the theremin and other theremin-related musical instruments. More in general, the goal of Thereminvox.com is to investigate the role of technology as a tool for expressive manifestations and the relations between art, technology and the human body.

Lydia is one of the few professional thereminists in the world and a master teacher on this instrument. She also is a composer and has premiered her own works and those of others throughout Russia, the USA, Europe and Asia.

I have a Big Briar Theremin. One word of warning. No matter how many books and videos you have, playing this insturment is very very difficult. I've tried and tried and have yet to get the hang of it. I'm just amazed at what others, like Rockmore and Kavina, can do.

One thing I've found. When I show my Theremin to good violin players, they can pretty quickly get the knack of the instrument. Maybe they are already used to associationg position with frequency.
